Cetrulo Law was established when a former partner was elected to the Kentucky Court of Appeals, leading to the transition from Cetrulo, Mowery & Hicks to its current form. The original firm, Cetrulo, Mowery & Hicks, was created when Cetrulo & Mowery merged with Larry Hicks, a former founding partner of Sutton Rankin Law. Shortly thereafter, Lindsay Rump joined, focusing on insurance-related legal disputes.

Before the merger, Cetrulo & Mowery had been serving the Northern Kentucky area for 12 years, primarily handling insurance litigation. Prior to that, Bob Cetrulo was a partner at Ware, Bryson, West, and Kummer, managing similar types of cases. Larry Hicks spent 20 years with his previous firm, focusing on business litigation, contract negotiations, and accident litigation, and played a key role in founding and leading several practice areas. Larry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky. Lindsay Rump, formerly a partner at Smith, Rolfes & Skavdahl, specialized in insurance defense litigation and coverage issues.
